Three elementary schools will start the school year with new principals this August. Melissa Dean has been named the new principal at Bammel Elementary School; Kimberly Stanley Martin is the new principal at Clark Intermediate School; and Dr. Tracie Malrey Robinson has been named the principal at Lewis Elementary School.
Dean most recently served as an assistant principal at Hirsch Elementary School. She has spent her entire educational career in Spring ISD teaching at Ponderosa, Bammel, Winship and Hirsch elementary schools since 1996 when she began teaching third- and fourth-grade language arts, science and social studies at Ponderosa Elementary.
Since then she has served as a kindergarten through fifth-grade reading intervention teacher, first-grade English as a Second Language teacher, second-grade self-contained classroom teacher, instructional specialist and summer school principal.
Dean received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education degree and her master’s degree in education administration from Sam Houston State University .
Martin began her career in education teaching an English as a Second Language kindergarten class in Houston ISD. Since 1998 she has served in a variety of positions for Aldine ISD, including assistant principal, testing coordinator, Title 1 program director and most recently principal at Gray Elementary School.
Martin has a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education degree and Mid-Management Certification from the University of Houston.
Robinson began her career in education in 1997 after earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Houston. Robinson taught English at Stevenson Middle School and Paul Revere Middle School in Houston ISD before moving into administration. Her administrative experience includes serving as an assistant principal for Kilgore ISD, Alief ISD and most recently Spring ISD at Jenkins Elementary School. In addition, she is an adjunct professor for the University of Houston, Clear Lake and an associate faculty member for the University of Phoenix – online.
Robinson received her Master of Education in Administration and Supervision degree from the University of Houston and her Doctorate of Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University in Florida.
