Spring resident sues stating EMS workers dropped mother

A deceased woman's estate is suing alleging the woman was dropped by EMS workers before she died. 

Lonnie McCoslin, of Spring, and Marsha Plummer, on behalf of Edna McCoslins estate, filed suit in Harris County District Court on Oct. 15, stating that Southwest Regional EMS failed to provide her the proper level of medical attention when, while attempting to transfer her to in-home hospice at Lonnie McCoslins house, she was allegedly dropped from the gurney to the floor by EMS employees.  

 

The estate contends the drop caused severe injuries, including lacerations to her head.    

 

In their suit, McCoslin and Plummer allege the injuries caused by the negligence of the EMS employees caused Edna McCoslin unnecessary pain and suffering, in addition to an earlier than expected death.  

 

It was the responsibility of Southwest Regional EMS, they say, to provide McCoslin the proper level of care.  

 

McCoslin and Plummer are being represented by Irvington attorney Stavis Gilbreath. They are seeking compensatory and punitive damages, as well as court costs.
