Spring company sued over tent accident at Discover Green Conservancy
A Houston man is suing the Discover Green Conservancy and a Spring-area construction company over a tent accident.
Thai Vu filed suit in Harris County District Court on Nov. 16 against Discover Green Conservancy, 1500 McKinney St.; Miner-Dederick Constructors, 1532 Peden St. in Memorial; Tas Construction, 20105 Krahn Road in Spring; and Hendee Enterprises, 1800 Washington Ave., Suite 100, claiming a tent blew down, causing a tent pole to strike him in the face while walking around Discover Green.
In the suit, Vu says that in 2008 he was walking around Discover Green when he came upon a tent erected for an upcoming festival. A gust of wind knocked the tent down and caused the tent pole to hit Vu in the face, causing severe damage.
The tent was manufactured by Hendee, constructed by Miner-Dederick and subcontracted by Tas.
Vu is seeking damages for past and future medical expenses, lost wages, suffering, physical impairment and disfigurement and pre- and post-judgment interest.
Vu is being represented in the case by the Houston firm Robert Kwok and Associates.
