Northwest Medical recognized by CIGNA
The Houston Northwest Medical Center has been recognized as a CIGNA Certified Hospital for bariatric surgery.
The designation indicates that the hospital and its "Well Beginnings" weight-loss surgery program has met CIGNA's quality standards as well as nationally recognized medical standards.
"We are pleased that our hospital and our surgeons have been recognized by CIGNA for the high quality care that we provide," said Terry Kirk, RN, chief nursing officer at Houston Northwest Medical Center.
The Surgical Review Corporation and/or American College of Surgeons base the CIGNA designation on multiple criteria that ranges from its obesity services, level of hospital practices and the number of bariatric surgery procedures performed.
Northwest Medical, located at 710 FM 1960 W., has been serving the north Houston community for over 35 years.
