Klein Forest alum has career game in Northern Arizona win
Klein Forest High School graduate Gabe Rogers set a new career high in scoring with 31 points.
Rogers' scoring effort helped lead the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks (4-2) to its fourth-straight victory with an 88-74 win over Pepperdine on Sunday.
The 6-foot, 2-inch, 175-pound sophomore guard made 12 of his 18 shots from the field, and went seven for eight behind the arc. He also added four rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Rogers played for coach Cary Black at Klein Forest from 2006 to 2008. He set the school scoring record and earned All-District honors, leading the Eagles to the Texas state semifinals in 2008. He chose Northern Arizona over TCU, Sam Houston State, Houston Baptist and Texas Pan American.
A criminology major, Rogers is the son of Gabe and Kim Rogers of North Houston's Kleinbrook subdivision.
