Klein teacher to speak at writing conference
Doerre Intermediate School teacher Mike Keimig will present at a conference for English teachers.
Mike Keimig, a teacher of English and language arts, will be a presenter at the annual conference of the Texas Council of the Teachers of English and Language Arts during its annual conference in Galveston, held Jan. 21 through Jan. 23.
His session is entitled "Bolster Perception: Empower Writers." From research and a family connection with ophthalmology, he seeks to help teachers and parents learn how to encourage students to develop vision skills to be more successful in school. Keimig will stress that students see in different ways. Some see details; some see more globally. The students in Keimig's sixth-grade classes make progress as writers from his integration of photography and writing.
