Spring inventor part of HP team receiving patent for computer network improvement
A Spring inventor is part of a group that recently received a U.S. patent for a computer networking improvement they developed for the Houston offices of Hewlett-Packard.
According to the patent, the team's innovation is an easier, more consistent way of managing the media access control (or "MAC") addresses of devices connected to a network, saving administrators' time.
The inventors named in the patent are Jeffrey Kevin Jeansonne of the Memorial area of Houston, Terri L. Dunlap of Tomball, Wei Ze Liu of Spring, and Gregory L. Hubbard of Sealy, Texas. The patent's official number is 7,885,205. It was originally filed on April 17, 2007. HP owns the patent.
While its international headquarters are in Palo Alto, California, Houston serves as the nerve center of its U.S. division. They are located in the Cy-Fair area at 20555 SH 249.
