Spring man patents cutting device
A Spring man has received a U.S. patent for a new kind of cutting device he invented in collaboration with a Houston-area team.
The patent describes a machine that makes it easier to cut grooves, slots or perpendicular cuts through an opening in an object. The inventors write that such a device could find a variety of applications in the oilfield services industry.
The inventors named by the patent are Gregg Steven Perkin of Kingwood, John Hadjioannou of Spring and Keven Michael O'Connor of Houston. Its official number is 7,887,271. The patent was originally filed on Feb. 23, 2007, and was approved on Feb. 15 of this year.
The owner of the patent is listed as Engineering Partners International, an engineering consulting firm whose offices are located in the Kingwood area at 1310 Kingwood Drive, Suite 100.
