County orders inspection of restaurant despite relatively low number of food safety violations
Though just one violation was observed in the regular inspection of a local restaurant, county inspectors indicated a follow-up visit will be required.
The inspection of Chacha's restaurant, 17020 Beaver Springs Drive, occurred on Feb. 25. The inspectors gave the establishment three demerits out of a possible 100. A business must earn 20 demerits to automatically generate a follow-up, though county officials can also order one at their discretion.
According to the inspectors' report, the three demerits were given for a failure to post consumer advisories. This is not one of the types of violations that the county website states are commonly associated with food-borne illness by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
