Perfect score for long-term care facility in Harris County food test
A long-term care facility in the Spring area recently received a perfect score on food-safety tests by the county.
Harris County officials paid their regular visit to the Champion Oaks Guest Home on 17705 Red Oak Drive on Feb. 17. They observed no violations worth recording in their report, meaning the facility received a score of zero demerits out of a possible 100.
The score is an improvement for Champion Oaks, which rated three demerits in an October 2010 inspection and nine in June 2010, though a follow-up inspection in July 2010 yielded a perfect score. A facility must receive 20 demerits to be automatically considered "of concern" and in need of a follow-up visit, but inspectors can also order a follow-up at their discretion.
