CiCi's Pizza location passes county inspection, though some problems persist
A CiCi's Pizza location in the Spring area recently passed its Harris County health inspection, though two problems had to be corrected during the visit.
The inspection by county officials took place on Jan. 28 at the CiCi's location at 111 FM 1960 W. They gave the restaurant a score of six demerits out of a possible 100. An establishment must earn 20 demerits to be considered "of concern" and in need of a follow-up visit.
According to their official report, inspectors found a "contact surfaces" violation at the restaurant. This means there may have been chips and cracks in places that could come into contact with preparers' hands as well as food. This problem is among those that the county website states are commonly associated with food-borne illness by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The other violation observed was a problem with the restaurant's hand-washing facilities. Both issues were addressed during the inspectors' visit.
The results of this inspection were more or less normal for this CiCi's location. The restaurant received three demerits in a September 2010 visit for a "contact surfaces" violation and six demerits for hand-washing problems in May 2010.
