Gas prices in Spring remain lower than average for area
Gas prices in the Spring area are down a few cents from last week, with the local average remaining below that of much of the country.
Users of price-tracking website gasbuddy.com reported rates for regular unleaded gasoline at 71 stations in Spring and Klein recently. The average of reported prices indicates gas cost about $3.394 on March 22. On March 15 of last week, the Spring-area average was about $3.412.
The price of gas here is still lower than the average for the Houston area ($3.427) as well as for Texas ($3.412) and the United States as a whole.
The lowest price reported in the area was $3.29, which was listed at the Kroger at 18518 Kuykendahl Road as well as the McFood Store at 9440 Louetta Road.
The highest price reported by GasBuddy users was $3.59. A user reported that rate was being charged at the Chevron station at 17627 Kuykendahl Road.
