Gas prices up in Spring; McFood Store still offers best price

The average price of gas is up this week, according to data reported
by the users of gasbuddy.com.

The price-tracking site recently listed rates for 75 stations in
Spring and Klein. Taken together, it shows that the average local
price for regular unleaded gas is about $3.462 as of March 28. That's
lower than the averages for the Houston area ($3.480), Texas ($3.465)
and the United States as a whole ($3.565).

Last week's average for Spring and Klein was about $3.394.

The lowest price for either city was reported at the McFood Store at
9440 Louetta Road, which was said to be charging $3.36 per gallon.
This was also last week's cheapest station.

The highest reported rate in the area was $3.55 per gallon, which was
being charged at five different stations in Spring.
