Safety record improves from poor to perfect at Indian food business
A mobile Indian food business in the Spring area recently made a major improvement in its Harris County health inspection score, going from one of the worst in the area to one of the best.
Tandoori Nite, based at 7821 Highway 6 S., received its regular visit from county food inspectors on Feb. 15. The establishment received zero demerits out of a possible 100 -- a perfect score.
According to county records, Tandoori has made a huge improvement over its last round of inspections. In October 2010, county staff observed six violations there for a total of 20 demerits. The violations included inadequate hand-washing facilities, evidence of insect contamination, problems with food contact surfaces and a "cold hold" violation, meaning some food was not kept at the proper temperature. Inspectors issued a citation and ordered a follow-up visit later that month. No problems were observed in that visit.
