Spring BMW dealership blamed for identity theft
A Pearland resident is suing a BMW dealership in Spring after, she says, it negligently allowed a customer to purchase a 2009 BMW M3 in her name, without her knowledge or consent.
Pearland resident Hestining Hasan filed a lawsuit on June 7 in the Harris County District Court against Autonation Inc., BMW of Houston North in Spring, Randy Lozmack, and David Le, alleging negligence.
Hasan says that in June of 2009, while she was completing an internship in Chicago, the defendants sold a 2009 BMW M3 to Hsin Hao “Scott” Chen, who used Hasan’s personal credit information and then forged her signature on all of the sales documents to obtain the loan under her name.
According to the brief, the defendants’ negligence has damaged Hasan’s reputation and credit rating.
Hasan is seeking damages and court costs. She is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Jerome Stevens.
