Spring business blamed for mold-infested Hockley home
A woman is suing after, she says, an improper air-conditioning installation by a Spring-area company rendered her home uninhabitable.
Ida Wiederhold filed a lawsuit on July 5 in Harris County District Court against Weather Pro’s Air Conditioning, of Spring, citing violations of the Deceptive Trade Practices Act, breach of warranty, negligence and breach of contract.
The suit alleges that in May 2006, the defendants improperly installed an air-conditioning and heating system in Wiederhold’s home, located on Country Lane in Hockley. According to the brief, the faulty installation caused water to be sucked up by the blower motor and blown to the ceiling, resulting in an unhealthful mold infestation.
Wiederhold damages, attorney’s fees and court costs. She is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Andrew Drapkin.
