Kroger locations to host 'Honoring Our Heroes' barbecue
Kroger is hosting “Honoring Our Heroes” celebrations for emergency services personnel and active military at multiple locations on Friday, Sept. 9.
The celebrations are in honor of the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks. Houston-area emergency services personnel and active military will receive a free barbecue meal at citywide cookouts from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Participating Kroger locations hosting cookouts will be the Kroger’s at 4533 Garth Road at Baker in Baytown; 3830 West Davis at Loop 336 in Conroe; 17455 Spring Cypress in Cypress; 3135 FM 528 at Bay Area in Friendswood; 3410 Northpark Drive; 1035 N. Shepherd at 11th; 1352 West 43rd St. at Ella; 7747 Kirby Drive at S. Main; 3550 Spencer Highway at Burke in Pasadena; 8323 Broadway at Cullen in Pearland; 8011 W. Grand Parkway South in Richmond; 2301 Rayford Road in Spring; and 4825 Sweetwater Blvd. in Sugar Land.
In addition to the cookouts, emergency services personnel and active military will be given a 10 percent discount on Kroger-brand products from Sept. 9 through Sunday, Sept. 11 at all 100-plus Kroger stores in greater Houston. To receive the discount, participants must show a valid form of ID or be in uniform.
Additionally, at 8:46 a.m. on Sept. 11, Kroger will host a citywide moment of silence.
