Shooting in Spring triggers lawsuit
A Spring-area apartment complex is being sued by a former tenant after, he says, he was attacked on the property as a result of lax security.
Diego Zapata filed a lawsuit on Nov. 18 in Harris County District Court against Breton Mill Apartments, CNC Investments and others, citing negligence.
Zapata says on Nov. 18, 2009, an unidentified shooter attacked him with a gun while he drove his car through his Spring-area apartment complex. According to the brief, Brenton Mill Apartments, located at 13555 Breton Ridge, did not provide tenants a safe living environment, by, among other things, failing to repair the security gates surrounding the premises.
Zapata is seeking damages and court costs. He is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Michelle Blum.
