Klein Forest grad Edwards helps North Texas win
Alonzo Edwards, a 2007 graduate of Klein Forest High School, notched one rebound Thursday night to help host North Texas win 84-67 in a men's college basketball game against Western Kentucky.
Edwards played high school basketball at Klein Forest from 2003 to 2007 earning first-team all-state and all-American honors. He was ranked No. 13 in the nation by texashoops.com and the No. 18 small forward in the country by espn.com.
Edwards is the son of Felix Potes and Regina Edwards.
The contest also featured 2010 Bellaire High School graduate Kene Anyigbo, who recorded one steal for Western Kentucky.
He played high school basketball at Bellaire from 2006 to 2010 earning second-team all-region honors. Anyigbo was rated the 82nd-best power forward prospect in the country by ESPN.
