Spring dentist accused of botching implant
A patient is suing a Spring-area dentist after, she says, he botched her dental implant.
Katie Burger filed a lawsuit on Jan. 23 in Harris County District Court against Jack Stephens, D.D.S., and Stephens & Gatewood, of Spring, citing negligence.
Burger says on Nov. 11, 2009, she sustained injuries while undergoing a dental implant performed by Stephens. According to the brief, Stephens misplaced the implant in Burger’s mucosal tissue, which eventually necessitated a painful grafting procedure.
The suit alleges that Stephens’s mistake caused the implant to be painful and unattractive.
Burger is seeking actual and punitive damages, as well as court costs. She is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Ron Lovett.
