Klein campuses selected for digital learning campaign
Three Klein Independent School District campuses were chosen to be featured in Digital Learning Day, a nationwide technology initiative by the Alliance for Excellent Education.
The inaugural event originated in the Newseum in Washington, D.C., and included participation from former CNN anchor Leon Harris, West Virginia Gov. Bob Wise, Secretary of Education Arne Duncan and FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski.
The campaign celebrates exemplary teachers and the instructional strategies they use to maximize innovative use of technology.
Webcasts were scheduled throughout the morning on the Digital Learning Day website, with pretaped interviews with district leaders across the country and segments featuring Klein Independent School District classrooms.
An interactive town hall took place in the afternoon, profiling teachers in the district like Klein Forest English Language Arts teacher Kim Sharp.
