Doerre Intermediate to host annual Culture Club celebration
Dorre Intermediate will host the eighth annual Culture Club Celebration in the school's cafeteria from 6-7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 9.
"Everyone Cooks Rice" is the theme of this year, based on the children's book by Norah Dooley. The story shows how although cultures may be different in some ways, there are commonalities that bind beyond borders.
Students participating in the event will represent the country of their choice through dress. In addition to the food, students will participate in passport and scavenger hunt games.
The Culture Club is dedicated to increasing cultural competency and understanding in the community. The event is sponsored by Doerre parents and restaurants Indian Wok and Kababi Zaytoon.
Doerre International is located at 18218 Theiss Mail Road.
