Hunting PLC announces finalists of 2012 Hunting Art Prize
Hunting PLC has publicized the list of Houston artists, including a Spring resident, who will move on to the final round of judging in the 2012 Hunting Art Prize.
The final round is phase two of a two-tiered juried process for a $50,000 prize, the biggest annual award in North America for painting and drawing.
The panel of jurors who narrowed the submissions to the final 109 participants will gather once again in April to determine the winner, who will be announced at the Hunting Art Prize gala on April 28.
Finalists from the Houston area are: John Adelman, Debra Barrera, Michael Bise, Brian Boyter, Will Brooks, Paul Carola, Vachu Chilakamarri, Vincent Fink, Elizabeth Flores, Lance Flowers, David Gray, Jimmy Houston, Hogan Kimbrell, Mindy Kober, Laura Lark, Garrett Middaugh, Eric Pearce, Kevin Peterson, Julon Pinkston, Ebony Porter, Lee Wright and Avery Zieben. Katy resident Joel Stanulonis, League City resident J. Todd Allison and Spring resident Gary J. Hernandez.
