Klein Oak student to sing national anthem at awards ceremony
Klein Oak High School student Morgan Starr will sing the national anthem during the 2012 HEB Excellence in Education Awards Ceremony on May 6.
Starr was selected to sing at the event through the Young Masters scholarship program, which provides grants to Texas students pursuing an education in the fine arts.
Starr is a member of the 2010 class of Young Masters.
The HEB Excellence in Education Awards recognize top educators in Texas.
Two Klein teachers — Laura Thornburg of Lemm Elementary and Jane Ann Brown of Roth Elementary — were selected as finalists for the 2012 HEB Excellence in Education Awards.
Award winners receive monetary prizes.
