Fleeing motorist struck, killed on FM 2920
The Harris County Sheriff's Office is investigating a bizarre incident that left one man dead Friday afternoon.
Around 1:55 p.m. April 27, several 911 calls reported a single-vehicle accident at the intersection of Spring Cypress and FM 2920. When officers arrived, they discovered the driver had left the scene.
Witnesses say the 28-year-old Caucasian male ran north through the HEB parking lot, then crossed FM 2920 and began running east on the westbound shoulder. He then lunged or dived into the path of an oncoming truck and was killed.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office Traffic Enforcement Section is investigating the death.
