Spring ISD kindergarten roundup begins

The Spring ISD Kindergarten Roundup for children beginning kindergarten in the 2012 school year will be held in late April and May with a full-day program for children 5 years old by Sept. 1.

Kindergarten registration is voluntary, but a child is subject to the compulsory attendance law once he or she is enrolled. The law requires a student to attend at least 90 percent of the year in order to receive credit. Students enrolled in pre-kindergarten will be automatically enrolled in kindergarten.

When registering, a parent or legal guardian must be present, along with a certified birth certificate, a certified immunization record, proof of residence in Spring ISD and, if applicable, a Social Security number.

Registration dates and times are listed below:

Anderson – April 30 through May 4, from 8 a.m. to noon and 1-2 p.m.
Bammel – Registration will be held in August
Booker – May 1-3 from 8 a.m. to noon
Beneke – May 3 from 1 to 7 p.m.
Burchett – May 7-11 from 8-11 a.m. and May 10 from 8-11 a.m. and 3-5 p.m.
Clark Primary – Registration will be held in August
Cooper – May 1-3 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Eickenroht – Registration will be held in August
Heritage – May 16 from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Hirsch – May 7-11 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Hoyland – May 14 from 3-4 p.m.
Jenkins – April 30 – May 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Lewis – May 7-11 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Link – May 1 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Major – May 2-4 from 7:30-11 a.m.
Marshall – April 30 – May 4 from 7:30-11:30 a.m. and 1-2:30 p.m.
McNabb – April 30 – May 4 from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and May 2 from 3-7 p.m.
Meyer – Registration will be held in August
Northgate Crossing – May 7-11 from 7:30-11 a.m. and noon to 1:30 p.m.
Ponderosa – Registration will be held in August
Reynolds – May 2-24 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Salyers – May 1-4 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Smith – April 23-27 from 8-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m.
Thompson – May 20 from 5:30-7 p.m.
Winship – May 2-4 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
