Camp Invention returning for summer programs
Camp Invention, a program created by Invent Now Inc., will be coming to Spring and The Woodlands during the summer months.
In 1990, Camp Invention was first utilized in order to help children understand their abilities in creative outlets in science and technology areas specifically. According to the press release, Michael J. Oister, Invent Now's Chief Operating Officer, commented, "Camp Invention's reputation as a leader in high-quality summer programming has helped us to grow from a museum program impacting 300 kids in 1990 to a national program impacting over 76,000 kids. We have families who tell us Camp Invention changed their child's outlook on learning, and stories like those keep us inspired."
During the program, the children go through four different learning modules which help them develop their critical-thinking skills to solve problems in the real world. Some of the modules children will take part in this summer include creating a balloon-bursting mechanism, visiting an imaginary island, and going on an adventure in a time machine.
The program will be available in various area schools at different times during the summer. These times and locations are: Erhard Elementary, June 18-22, The Woodlands Preparatory School, July 23-27, and Willow Creek Elementary, June 18-22. The program will also be available at Christ Church United Methodist, July 30-August 3, as well as Klein United Methodist Church June 11-15.
