“Water is essential for birds, and they especially love moving water,” Just For The Birds owner Kathy Coward said. “Fountains are great, but you can help out your bird bath with a dripper or a water wiggler.”
A water wiggler is a battery operated device that keeps water in the bird bath moving. Not only does the moving water attract the birds, but it also prevents mosquitoes from laying eggs, as mosquitoes lay their eggs in stagnant water.
“Also, birds prefer shallow bird baths,” Coward said.
As water evaporates faster in the heat, it is essential to always check that the bath does not dry out.
