Spring cyclists help CenterPoint raise $1 million for MS
The CenterPoint Energy cycling team recently surpassed $1 million in funds for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, with most efforts centered around the annual MS 150 Houston to Austin ride.
"Our employees, family members and friends are passionate about helping the MS Society in its quest to fund research and support for the almost 55,000 Texans who live with multiple sclerosis," said Scott Prochazka, electric operations president, in a press release. "The 150 riding members and 50 volunteers associated with our team are excited to continue our efforts and celebrate additional milestones with the MS Society as our relationship continues."
The team has raised a total of $1,021,181 over the past 12 years of participation. Its jersey will be hung on the Wall of Fame in the Houston office of the MS Society, joining a group of teams recognized for their fundraising efforts.
