Spring ISD receives GFOA award for financial reporting

Ann Westbrooke, executive finance director for the Spring Independent School District, won an award from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for creating the award-winning 2011 comprehensive annual financial report.
The report meets the high standards set by GFOA and provides a complete picture of the district's financial story with the "spirit of full disclosure" in a way that encourages potential users to read the report.
The school district, 16717 Ella Blvd. in Houston, also received GFOA's Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting and Certificate of Excellence Award from the Association of School Business Officials International.
