Goodwill Houston has been serving communities since 1945 by spreading the power of work to citizens.

Goodwill Houston has been serving communities since 1945 by spreading the power of work to citizens.

While most people are familiar with Goodwill stores and donation centers, many do not know that Goodwill's mission is changing lives through the power of work. With the money generated from the sale of donated items, Goodwill Industries is able to provide training, education and job opportunities to people with disabilities and other barriers to employment. Established in 1945, Goodwill Houston originally served individuals with physical disabilities. Today, through its six job connection service centers, Goodwill helps individuals who are unemployed or underemployed, and specializes in assisting older workers, veterans, the homeless, the formerly incarcerated, youth and people with disabilities.

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING: "Goodwill Industries found me a job that fit my skills, but better than that, they found me a job that I was extremely passionate about, and so it's just a win/win situation every day that I go to work." -- U.S. Army veteran Gregory Miltons
