'Beehive' musical to open at Texas Repertory Theatre
The Texas Repertory Theatre has scheduled four performances of "Beehive: The '60s Musical," starting June 28.
"Beehive" follows 48 of the most famous songs sang by women and follows their impact on fashion and hairstyles. Six women, one band, 43 wigs, 60 costumes and 25 cans of hairspray are included in the performance. Songs made popular by The Chiffons, The Supremes, Aretha Franklin, Lesley Gore and more are featured in the musical.
Christina Stroup, Lindsey Kersey, Ronna Mansfield, Rikki Conner, Lori Calloway and LaKiaya Evans star in the show, which is directed by Dan O'Brien. Performances run until July 23, and show times are 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 3 p.m. on Sundays. Tickets are $45 for opening night, $40 for regular admission and $30 for preview admission. Senior and student discounts are available. Contact the box office at 281-583-7573.
