Seniors get free health screenings at Gleannloch Farms
Residents and senior citizens received free peripheral arterial disease screenings at The Village at Gleannloch Farms on May 18, when the active aging community teamed up with St. Luke's Hospital to offer the screenings.
"We had a fantastic event," said Gleannloch Farms Executive Director Kathy Johanns in a news release. "We were happy to help seniors get the proper screenings necessary to live long, full, active lives. It was a pleasure to join forces with St. Luke's Hospital to offer the screenings."
The screenings, which measure hardening of the arteries, was painless, quick and noninvasive. Hospital staff members were present to identify and discuss preventive steps, risk factors and treatment options.
The Village at Gleannloch Farms, situated on 25 acres at Champion Forest Drive and Northpointe Boulevard, is a not-for-profit community offering more than 100 independent living apartments and cottages for active adults age 62 and older. The community also offers 30 assisted living apartments, 18 memory support residences and 35 private skilled suites.
