YMCA summer basketball league signup under way

Basketball leagues for ages 6-14 will be available at the North Harris County Branch YMCA at 17125 Ella Blvd. in Houston June 30-Aug. 18.

Family involvement, healthy competition and the value of participation over winning will be the focus of the summer sport, where kids will develop as individuals as they learn to work within a team.

Caring adult coaches and volunteers will teach the values of responsibility, honesty, respect, faith and caring. Parents are encouraged to get involved by being volunteer coaches, team parents and officials.

Cost for facility members is $70; cost for program members is $95.
