Texas Repertory announces upcoming theater season

Northwest Houston's Texas Repertory Theatre Co. will begin its eighth season, "The Living Art," on Aug. 23.

The 2012-2013 season will include six season productions and a blockbuster summer musical event.

The season kicks off with Ken Ludwig's comedy "Leading Ladies," followed by Mark Medoff's thriller "When Ya Comin' Back Red Ryder" in October. Returning this year will be the Christmas classic "It's a Wonderful Life," a live radio play, which will be broadcast on Houston's KSEV radio.

James Goldman's "The Lion in Winter" will kick off the spring season in January, followed by Stephen Sondheim's modern musical "Company" in March. The season closes in May with the comedy "Tribute," by Bernard Slade.

The Texas Repertory will then stage the classic rock musical "Godspell" on June 27, 2013.

Season tickets are on sale now. Packages start at $125 and offer all six shows for the price of five. To purchase tickets, call the box office at 281-573-7573. For information, go to texreptheatre.org.
