State seeks to shut down alleged unlicensed massage parlor in Spring
The State of Texas is asking the court to shut down a Spring-area massage parlor accused of promoting prostitution.
The State of Texas filed a lawsuit on Tuesday, June 12 in the Harris County District Court against Spring-area Empire Foot Reflexology and Rebecca McLemore, citing a public nuisance.
The suit alleges that since February 2009, Harris County has cited Empire Foot Reflexology, located at 921 W. FM 1960 in Spring, 52 times on charges of running an unlicensed establishment. According to the brief, McLemore's massage parlor is a haven for pimps, who traffic women for sex through force, fraud or coercion.
Texas is asking the court for injunctive relief to shut down this alleged illegal operation, attorney's fees and court costs. The state is being represented in the case by Assistant County Attorney Fred Keys Jr.
