Klein alum sparks Rangers to victory
David Murphy, a 2000 graduate of Klein High School, sparked the Texas Rangers to a 2-0 win over the Houston Astros on Monday.
Murphy went 1 for 2, with two RBI and a walk.
On the season, Murphy is batting .282, with seven home runs, and 25 RBI.
After a standout career at Klein, Murphy played college baseball at Baylor University. He was drafted in the 2003 Major League Baseball Draft by the Boston Red Sox.
He became part of the Texas Rangers in 2007 when he was acquired by trade.
