LSC-Tomball offering four summer meningitis vaccination clinics
Lone Star College System is partnering with the Travelvax Travel Health Clinic to provide reduced-cost vaccinations on the LSC-Tomball campus for four dates this summer.
New LSC-Tomball students required to comply with Texas meningitis requirements must have proof of vaccination or exception submitted to LSC-Tomball by Aug. 11 for all early registration classes. New students registering for fall semester classes after Aug. 11 must submit payment and proof of vaccination or exception upon registering for classes.
The clinics will be set up at LSC-Tomball, located at 30555 Tomball Parkway, in Room N-103 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 27, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 17, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 7 and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Aug. 23.
Students older than age 18 can get the vaccinations for $115. Students 18 and younger who are uninsured or underinsured will receive the vaccinations for $14 through Texas Vaccines for Children. Parent permission is required for those younger than 18, and all students must bring a valid picture ID to the clinic.
Travelvax will provide students with the Magnus proof of vaccination forms as proof of vaccination.
Texas law (Senate Bill 1107) requires most incoming college students to be vaccinated against bacterial meningitis or provide an exemption request declining the vaccine.
