UH Clear Lake to host School of Education showcase June 28
The University of Houston-Clear Lake School of Education is offering on-the-spot admission decisions and waived application fees during its School of Education showcase event scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 28 on the school's campus, located at 2700 Bay Area Blvd.
The day will be composed of interactive workshops, opportunities to meet with faculty members and classroom visits to observe teachers. Representatives from admissions, advising, financial aid and several student organizations will be on hand to answer questions and help with the enrollment process.
Mini-workshop sessions will focus on learning strategies to create positive classroom environments that motivate students, discovering the importance of play in early childhood education, understanding the steps necessary for teacher certification as well as information about UH-Clear Lake's leadership programs that can lead to principal and superintendent certifications.
Individuals taking advantage of on-the-spot admissions must present all transcripts and test scores. International students, counseling students and doctoral degree candidates are not eligible for on-the-spot admission.
The School of Education offers more than 65 degree or certification programs, including eight graduate programs, six professional certificates and the teacher certification program and certifies in more than 40 specializations and teaching fields.
