League City's emergency water rationing ended June 22

Emergency water rationing was in effect due to a major supply line leak June 21-22.

The transmission line that carries 90 percent of the city's surface water supply developed a severe leak, prompting the rationing, which is in line with stage three of the city's drought contingency plan.

During this stage of rationing, iIrrigation of landscaped areas is prohibited, along with the washing of any type of vehicle; washing of sidewalks and other hard surface areas, along with the flushing of gutters; and washing of any building or structure other than for the purpose of fire protection. The use of water to fill, refill or add to any swimming pool, hot tub or water slide is prohibited. The use of water in a fountain or pond is only permitted when necessary to support aquatic life.
