Dr. Stanley Spinner is new Texas Children's Pediatric Associates chief medical officer

A new leader has been selected to oversee clinical operations in all 47 locations of the Texas Children's Pediatric Associates offices.

Dr. Stanley Spinner was named chief medical officer for the pediatric care network, which has more than 200 pediatricians across the country. Spinner, who is an associate clinical professor at Baylor College of Medicine, will guide medical policies, practices and programs of TCPA by working closely with physician groups, implementing cost-effective practices and facilitating communications across the organization.

"Dr. Spinner is an experienced leader and has been a tremendous asset to TCPA, bringing more than 25 years of health care expertise to his new role," said Kay Tittle, president of TCPA, in a press release. "He will be critical to guiding the medical policies of our constantly growing network of pediatric practices to ensure the best possible care for our patients and the children of the Houston community."

Spinner has worked as a pediatrician for 27 years at TCPA-Town & Country, the third practice to join the TCPA network. He was also the chairman of TCPA's executive committee for 10 years and served as the regional medical director for TCPA for 12 years.

"I'm excited about this new opportunity, and I'm looking forward to partnering closely with the physicians and clinical staff across the organization to help serve the needs of the children in our community," said Spinner in the release. "From Friendswood to The Woodlands and Katy to Baytown, I'll be able to work with practices from all over Houston, as well as teaming with our dedicated Project Medical Home locations, to ensure all children have access to quality health care regardless of their financial status."

Spinner earned his bachelor of arts in biology from the University of Texas at Austin and his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. His pediatric residency program was completed at BCM, he earned a certificate in medical and health care management from Rice University and completed an advanced quality improvement and safety program at Texas Children's Hospital.
