Hobby Airport Houston announces new baggage area
The Williams P. Hobby Airport opened its new baggage claim area June 26.
It is still in the same spot, but features a renovated and open-design concept with terrazzo flooring, longer baggage conveyors, upgraded lighting and larger restrooms.
Construction for the project began in June 2010 as part of a $350 million renovation project throughout Hobby Airport that has also added new ticket counters, lobby spaces and artwork.
“Hobby Airport has come a long way in a short amount of time,” said Ross Underhill, acting general manager, in a press release. “We’ve been able to upgrade the airport in several different areas that have made a huge impact to our customers.” Underhill also mentioned the airport will focus on renovating its U-ramp for customers.
