Herman Little Park dedication to take place Friday, July 13
The dedication of Herman Little Park, the newest anchor park in the Cypress Creek Greenway Project, will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, July 13.
Named for Kingwood resident and civic leader Herman I. Little Jr., the 55-acre park will serve as a trailhead in the 25-mile greenbelt currently under construction.
Included is a 4.5-acre pond for catch-and-release fishing, a wooded “playscape” for children, a soccer field, skate park, wetlands observation deck, picnic facilities, trails and exercise equipment.
The project was financed by Timber Lane Utility District and the Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife.
“This project is also a tremendous testament to the foresight of residents of the Timber Lane communities who voted in 2007 to authorize park projects,” said Bud Gessel, Timber Lane director, according to the press release. “Amenities like Herman Little Park add value to our homes and enrich our lifestyles.”
