Murder at Spring motel triggers lawsuit
Parents are suing after their son was murdered at a Spring-area motel.
Mark Rushing and Cindy Whitehead, on behalf of their deceased son, Zachary Andrew Rushing, filed a lawsuit Tuesday, July 3 in the Harris County District Court against In Town Suites, citing negligence.
Rushing and Whitehead say July 13, 2010, Zachary Andrew Rushing was shot to death in his room at In Town Suites, located at 16909 Rolling Creek Drive, in Spring. The failure of the defendant to take reasonable measures to prevent crime on its premises resulted in Rushing's murder, according to the brief.
The plaintiffs are seeking damages and court costs. They are being represented in the case by Houston attorney Kevin Krist.
