Friends of Texas Wildlife to host introductory course
The Friends of Texas Wildlife will host Introduction to Wildlife Rehabilitation, a free class July 21 for those interested in helping wildlife affected by last summer's drought.
The class will be held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the HEB Magnolia on FM 1488. Space is limited and registration is required to attend. Register by emailing ftwl.center@gmail.com by July 18.
The organization reports that animal mortality rates are higher, with animals suffering from malnutrition and baby animals orphaned due to the drought. Recent rains have helped alleviate dry conditions, but animals will feel the drought’s effects longer.
The Friends of Texas Wildlife is also in need of donations to help with medications, vet expenses and operating expenses for its center in Magnolia. Donations can be made online at www.ftwl.org.
