Recreational activities at Matheson Park
Tennis courts, a pee-wee baseball field and full pool facility are some of the things families can enjoy this summer at Matheson Park.
One of the main features of the 10-acre park is a large interactive playground area, split into two separate areas. The first, designed for toddlers, includes a sand box for the kids and a shaded area for adults to sit. The second, designed for older children, has slides and a swing set. There is also a covered picnic area that may be rented out for gatherings by calling 281-290-1400.
The park’s swimming pool is a full facility with restrooms, water fountains and showers. It is operated by the Tomball YMCA, which schedules swimming lessons and programs. There is a small fee for using the pool depending, on residency. It is closed on Mondays for maintenance. To reach the YMCA, call 281-356-4077.
Lighting allows for night play at each of the four tennis courts at the park, but not at the pee-wee baseball field, which is a small fenced area designed for family baseball games.
Matheson Park, located at 1240 Ulrich Road, Tomball, was named after the late Tomball City Council member Jerry Matheson.
