New Caney HS grad Adam Dunn scores but Boston wins battle of the Sox.

New Caney High School graduate Adam Dunn scored a run, but the Chicago White sox fell to the Boston Red Sox, 3-1, Thursday.

Dunn drew a walk and scored a run in the loss.

On the season, Dunn is batting .208 with 28 home runs and 65 RBIs.

The Cincinnati Reds drafted Dunn in the second round (50 th overall) of the 1998 amateur Draft. He made his big league debut on July 20, 2001 and went on to set a rookie record for most home runs in a month, with 12, in August 2001.

Dunn spent eight seasons with the Reds before being traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Aug. 11, 2008, for three players. A free agent after the season for the first time, he signed a two-year contract to play for the Washington Nationals. On Dec. 2, 2010, Dunn signed a four-year, $56 million contract with Chicago.

Dunn was born Nov. 9, 1979, in Houston.
