Spring Woods HS grad Chris Snyder fuels Astros in loss
Spring Woods High School graduate did some damage, but the Astros lost to the Reds 8-3 Monday.
Snyder went 1-for-2, scored a run and drew a walk in the loss.
On the season, Snyder is batting .176 with four home runs and 19 RBIs.
The Seattle Mariners drafted Snyder in the 1999 amateur draft but he did not sign, electing to attend the University of Houston instead. He was then drafted in the second round (68 th overall) of the 2002 amateur draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Snyder spent parts of seven seasons with Arizona, making his Major League debut on Aug. 21, 2004, before being traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates on July 31, 2010, in a five-player swap. Snyder signed with the Astros as a free agent on Jan. 20, 2012.
Snyder was born Feb. 12, 1981, in Houston.
