Klein HS grad David Murphy torches Red Sox

Klein High School graduate David Murphy has a red-hot day, but the Rangers fell to the Red Sox 2-1 Tuesday.

Murphy went 2-for-3, with a double and a walk in the loss.

It was Murphy's 12th two-bagger of the year.

On the season, Murphy is batting .279, with nine home runs, 33 RBIs and seven stolen bases.

After a standout career at Klein, Murphy played college baseball at Baylor University. He was drafted in the 2003 Major League Baseball Draft by the Boston Red Sox.
