Klein HS alum Jeremy Barfield keeps banging
Klein High School graduate Jeremy Barfield stayed hot, but Midland fell, 6-5, to San Antonio Tuesday.
Barfield went 1-for-3 with a triple and a run batted in.
On the season, Barfield is batting .280, with eight home runs, and 49 RBIs.
Barfield is a 2006 graduate of Klein High School. He was selected by the New York Mets in the ninth round (274th overall) of the 2006 Major League Baseball draft but did not sign. Barfield played two seasons (2007 and 2008) at San Jacinto College before being selected by the Oakland Athletics in the eighth round (244 th overall) of the 2008 MLB draft. Barfield is the son of 12-year Major League veteran Jesse Barfield and was born July 12, 1988, in Houston.
